Prayer Ministry
There are many ways you can become involved in our prayer ministry here at Derita Baptist Church. The following opportunities are available for you to participate in:
– Praying during the Worship service each Sunday Morning. In the Prayer Room, these volunteers pray for:
Worship Service Intercessors
the PHYSICAL components within the worship center.
the PERSONNEL who will be leading in the worship.
the PASTORS who will be leading in the worship.
the PEOPLE who will be participating in the worship.
the PRESENCE OF GOD to be realized in the worship.
the POWER of GOD to be active in the worship.
the PERFECT WILL of GOD to be accomplished.
A detailed prayer guide is available in the Prayer Room to help you pray in these areas. If you are willing to commit to this important ministry, please contact me.
- (a service of Prayer and Praise) – Each Sunday morning at 9:00 am. We meet in the Worship Center for a time of Prayer and Praise. I encourage you to come and participate in this service.
POWERHOUR
Peak of the Week (Worship & Adult Bible Study) – A prayer guide updated each Wednesday is available for you to take home and pray for the following areas:
Global Missions
Salvation of friends & family
Jail Ministry
Our National Leaders
General Health Concerns
Our Church Ministries
Other Needs
– Our prayer room is open any day of the week for you to come and pray. There are many prayer resources available in the prayer room as well as a notebook to list a prayer request or item of praise. We need people to spend 15-30 minutes or even an hour in the prayer room any time during the week and commit to pray for our Church, its ministries & other needs. Please see me if this is an area you could serve. You pick the time and it doesn’t have to be the same time each week. It could even be a “drop in” time. I will have a book for you to sign in and we can encourage others with your faithfulness.
Prayer Room
Internet Intercessor – We have prayer requests that are received by phone or e-mail that are sent out to members via e-mail who have committed to pray for these requests. If you have an e-mail address and would like to join this group, just let me know.Prayerwalking – We need to take some time each week to pray for our neighbors. You could take a walk on your street and pray for each household as you pass them. You can pray when you are mowing the grass or shopping. I have some resources in the prayer room to help Prayerwalkers and have placed the book PRAYERWALKING: Praying on site with insight. By Steve Hawthorne & Graham Kendrick in the Church library. Let me know about your prayerwalking ventures.
